It’s that time of year again: holiday lights, cozy nights, and the endless buzz of “What’s your word of the year?” “What’s your big goal for 2025?” Or maybe the dreaded “What’s your New Year’s resolution?”
When those questions pop up on your social feed, which camp are you in?
Camp 1: You’re fired up for a fresh start. A new year means a clean slate, and you can’t wait to dive in with big dreams and even bigger plans.
Camp 2: You’re running on fumes. You’re too busy juggling everything to think about goals—just surviving the day feels like an achievement.
Camp 3: You’re laser-focused. You know what works, and you’re grinding it out, confident that success is just a matter of time.
Camp 4: You’re in survival mode. The past year’s challenges knocked the wind out of you and, right now, you’re questioning if this whole journey is even worth it.
If you’re in Camp 4, stick with me. And if you’re in Camps 1-3, I see you too—I’ve been in every one of those places. Some years are mountaintops, and others are valleys. The valleys, they shape you in ways the mountaintops never could.
Let me take you back to my 2023. It wasn’t my first tough year, but it was a defining one.
My 2023: Lessons in the Hard Stuff
I started last year co-owning a business I loved. We started the year in the negative and also realized some recurring invoices hadn’t gone out for months—a mistake that cost us thousands. We underestimated project scopes, ran into disconnects between what was sold and what could be delivered, and ultimately, the business partnership ended. Closing that chapter was painful, messy, and expensive.
Here’s the thing: I could’ve stopped. Part of me wanted to. But I didn’t.
Why? Because I’ve never been someone who gives up when it gets hard. And because the people around me—my family, my team—needed me to keep going. So, instead of throwing in the towel, I dug deeper.
K Marketing Co. was born from that moment. It wasn’t just about starting fresh; it was about building something better, something that aligned with the vision I’d had for years. I brought my team along—people who believed in that same dream—and together, we embraced the hard work of starting over.
2024: Building Something We’re Proud Of
Fast forward to today. As we approach KMC’s first anniversary on January 1, 2025, I’m honestly in awe of what we’ve accomplished in just one year:
- We welcomed five incredible new team members: Ryan, Maddy, Maria, Emma, and Kayla.
- We support 116 Wix website clients from all across the country.
- We completed over 11,000 hours of design, SEO, and marketing work for our clients.
- We earned 13 new certifications
- Helped 342 businesses and nonprofits this year alone, with services ranging from marketing management to website design, logo creation, and community events.
- Increased team salaries by 20% compared to our former company.
-We moved into our brand new 2,200 square foot office space, including six offices, two conference rooms, video and photography studio, lobby, and lounge.
- Hit over 100% growth in revenue compared to the former company's prior year.
The best part? Knowing that the work we’ve done has helped our clients grow, thrive, and achieve their goals.
What About You?
If you’re still here, reading this, it tells me something—you care about what’s next. Maybe you’ve had a year full of wins, or maybe it’s been a year of tough lessons. Either way, as we reflect in this yearly recap, 2025 is right around the corner, and it’s yours for the taking.
Here’s my challenge to you: Let your setbacks be your springboard. Don’t let your starting point define your future. Your story isn’t over, and your team will always reflect the energy and vision you bring to the table.
In this yearly recap of 2024, I learned that your dreams are always within reach if you remain resilient, stay focused, and surround yourself with a team that shares your vision. If I had given up when things got tough—and believe me, they were tough—I would never have been able to lead K Marketing Co. to where it is today.
As we move forward, I hope that in 2025, you embrace your potential, commit to hard work, and create something truly remarkable. The best is yet to come!
Cheers to what’s ahead -What will you do with it?
